Attributed to the Sons of Korah and called a love song, Psalm 45 was written for a royal wedding in Israel, though which king is unknown. Its address to the king as God in verse 6 has puzzled interpreters and pointed beyond any ordinary king. Jewish and Christian readers alike have long read it of the Messiah.
