Attributed to the Sons of Korah, Psalm 47 celebrates the LORD as King over all nations, perhaps sung in a festival procession, though its exact setting is unknown. Its vision reaches beyond Israel to the nations joining the people of Abraham. The church has long read it on Ascension Day.
