Week 4 · Monday · Psalm 132: God's Oath to David

This psalm leans on an oath God swore to David. When promises feel slow, it is good to rehearse the ones God has already kept.

The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise He will not revoke: “One of your descendants I will place on your throne.
verse 17There I will make a horn grow for David; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one. verse 18I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown upon him will gleam.”

Zechariah blessed God for raising up a horn of salvation in the house of David, and Peter preached that God kept his oath to David in the risen Christ.
