Week 2 · Wednesday · Psalm 24: The King of Glory Comes In
For today
Who may stand in God's holy place? The honest answer humbles us. Then the psalm turns to the gates and calls them to open wide, because the King of glory is coming in.
Begin with these verses
verse 3Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? verse 4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear deceitfully.
verse 7Lift up your heads, O gates! Be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may enter! verse 8Who is this King of Glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Paul calls the crucified Jesus the Lord of glory. Holy and blameless, he alone came with clean hands and a pure heart, and he entered God's presence on our behalf.
None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Such a high priest truly befits us — One who is holy, innocent, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
For Christ did not enter a man-made copy of the true sanctuary, but He entered heaven itself, now to appear on our behalf in the presence of God.
