The God who comes

For today
God comes, and he does not keep silent. What he asks for here is simple: thanksgiving, promises kept, and a call to him in the day of trouble.

verse 1The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from where the sun rises to where it sets. verse 2From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.
verse 14Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and fulfill your vows to the Most High. verse 15Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”

Christians confess that the God who comes as judge came first to save: the Son was not sent to condemn the world, and he will appear a second time for those who wait for him.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.
